Osgood-Schlatter disease is an overuse injury affecting the growth plate at the top of the shinbone (tibial tuberosity), just below the knee. It commonly occurs in active children and adolescents during growth spurts, particularly those involved in running, jumping, and sports. Repetitive pulling of the patellar tendon causes inflammation, pain, swelling, and sometimes a visible bony prominence below the kneecap.
Common Symptoms
- Pain below the kneecap
- Tenderness over the tibial tuberosity
- Swelling below the knee
- Pain during running, jumping, kneeling, or climbing stairs
- Tight quadriceps and hamstrings
Primary Remedies
Magnesium Glycinate
- Supports muscle relaxation and recovery.
- Helps reduce muscle tension pulling on the tendon attachment.
- Supports tissue healing and reduces cramping.
Buffered Vitamin C
- Essential for collagen production and tendon repair.
- Supports connective tissue healing.
- Reduces oxidative stress associated with chronic inflammation.
Joint & Connective Tissue Support
